Accessibility statement

Accessibility statement for pdftriage.dev: target WCAG 2.1 AA, how the site was tested, known limitations and how to report a problem.

Updated

A tool for accessible documents should be accessible itself. This statement covers the pdftriage.dev website and the PDF Triage app.

Target

We aim to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA.

How it was tested

  • Automated testing with axe-core (WCAG 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 A and AA rules) on the English and Spanish pages, desktop and mobile, including the results view: 0 violations on October 15, 2026.
  • Google Lighthouse accessibility score: 100 on the home page (October 15, 2026).
  • Keyboard navigation, a skip link, visible focus, labelled controls, a live progress region and a captioned results table are built in.

Automated tools cannot catch every barrier, and the site has not yet had a formal manual audit with assistive-technology users.

Known limitations

  • Choosing a whole folder uses the browser’s folder picker, which some browsers and assistive technologies support less well; you can always choose individual files instead.
  • The PDFs you analyze and the fixed copies the tool produces are only as accessible as their content; the tool does not add tags or alternate text.

Report a problem

If something on this site is hard to use, please tell us on X: @smoketesting. Describe the page, what you were trying to do and the browser or assistive technology you use.
